A change order has been approved on phase one of the new Washington fire station. Mayor Jaron Rosien said it’s happily a small change order equal to about 1.7% of the total project. City Administrator Brent Hinson said a walk through of the work was done and went well, “We’re ready to close it out very soon, so hopefully this should be the only change order, all the work is done. So, the biggest thing is, as the mayor mentioned, is there’s $4,764 related to the generator that really just amounted to the generator supplier not supplying us the right stuff, there were some lugs for example. And all of this created more work for the electrical contractor. And so, there’s extra expense but on the upside we haven’t paid the generator contractor yet, and that was an owner supplied item so we have $4,764 that will be deducted from their invoice.” The total approved change order was $7,255 but equals to $2,491 after the cost is deducted from the payment to the generator supplier.
