The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams are on the road Friday to meet Louisa-Muscatine in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader.

The IMS girls come into the game with a 2-1 overall record after a 58-55 win over Lone Tree in which Suzanna Yoder set a new career high with 35 points. On the season, IMS is led by Yoder at 28 points per game, third best in the state of Iowa in class 1A. Yoder also leads the conference and the state with 15 assists. Yani Gutierrez leads IMS on the glass with 33 rebounds, third in the Superconference.

Louisa-Muscatine is 1-0 on the year after a 68-19 win over Columbus to open the season. Mariah Pugh led the Falcons with a double double scoring 12 points and pulling in 10 boards. She also had four assists. In this series, the Falcons won both games a season ago.

The IMS boys are 1-0 coming into tonight after a 68-46 win over Lone Tree. Trevor Leyden led the way in that game with 23 points, Caleb Gingerich had eight assists and Jeremy Niemeyer finished with 10 rebounds. This is the season opener for Louisa-Muscatine. The Falcons were 11-12 last year. They lost their top four players by the numbers to graduation last year. Their leading returner is Brock Jeambey at five points per game. IMS swept the season series a year ago winning 74-51 in Letts and 64-53 in Kalona.

Action begins tonight at 6p.m. at Louisa-Muscatine High School.
