Local Veteran to Speak at Free Dinner for Veterans Saturday

A Wayland veteran will be speaking in Washington for a free Veterans Day dinner. Scott Shank, Master Sergeant, U.S. Army, retired is the keynote speaker for the program at the annual dinner to honor area veterans in Washington. He will speak on ‘The Army in Transition, from Viet Nam to Afghanistan’. Shank was an infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1974-77 in the Army. His deployments include Kuwait, Iraq for six tours, and Afghanistan. The dinner is co-hosted by the Washington County Military Museum and American Legion Post #29. The pork loin dinner will be Saturday at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington at 6 p.m. and is free and no reservations are required.
