A trailer caught fire in rural Riverside and a man was arrested for arson early Wednesday. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 12:16 a.m. dispatch was notified of a trailer on fire northwest of Riverside at 5469 Lackender Avenue Southwest. Everyone was able to get out of the trailer. Fire fighters from departments in Kalona, Riverside, and Hills extinguished the fire. Almost three hours later Washington County Sheriff’s personnel located a person in Riverside connected to the case. Johnson County officials also responded and arrested 34-year-old Ryan Lippard for arson in the second degree, a class C felony. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail and bond is set at $25,000.
