The Education Center at Marr Park will be getting a much needed makeover.

The exhibit room will be getting brand new displays that will be more interactive to students. The changes will also add the ability to adjust the lessons to keep the learning fresh throughout the changing seasons. There will be an ant hill exhibit, which Naturalist Pam Holz is looking forward to the most, “I have been to a lot of nature centers and I have not seen anybody with an ant hill. It’s, to me, it is a very unique way to discuss underground life, which is very important since soil in Iowa is very important.” This project is possible due to a $65,125 award from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.
