The Washington County Riverboat Foundation Awards 41 Grants

The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded just over $1 million at their fall grant ceremony. 

Wednesday evening the foundation gave out a total of 41  grants totaling $1,006,168. A big theme for these grants were school’s gaining access to science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) labs. The WACO and Keota School District were each awarded over $31,000 for a STEAM lab. Another project that received funding was the Washington County Conservation Department receiving $65,125 to add to their education center. The largest grant of the night was awarded was to the Friends of Lake Darling to complete the ADA fishing trail at the Lake Darling State Park; they were awarded $135,000. Since 2016 the Washington County Riverboat Foundation has awarded 1,349 grants for a total of $44,141,732.
