Winfield-Mt. Union had three members of its football team named to the all-district team for eight-man district four.

Juanito Piper led things off for the Wolves as the lone first-teamer.  He ran for 395 rushing yards as the team’s starting running back, 219 of which came in one game, the 72-0 routing of Tri County for the program’s first win since 2015.  He also played defensively, leading the entire district in solo tackles with 80.  And that’s even having missed a game.

The Wolves also had two honorable mentions: junior Daunte Oepping and senior Brandon Snowden.  Oepping played both ways, serving as the quarterback and as a defensive back, hauling in five picks on the year (tied for second in the district).  Snowden primarily served as a kick returner, leading the entire state at any level in kick return touchdowns and finishing third in return yards.  He also saw a bit of time at receiver, hauling in a 42-yard touchdown catch.

The Wolves graduate just four seniors in Snowden, Nick Davis, Graham Hagge and Collin Hinkle, and return their remaining 22 players.
