Heavy snowfall last week has melted and area river levels have risen. The Iowa River at Columbus Junction rose to 16.4 feet Sunday, an increase of over three feet from Saturday. Flood stage there is 19 feet. The Iowa River near Lone Tree went up about four feet, and nearly reached 12 feet over the weekend. Flood stage there is 15 feet and water levels started lowering Monday. At Wapello, the Iowa River was at 17.3 feet Monday and climbing. The English River is back on its way down. From Saturday to Sunday the river rose approximately seven feet to 12.5 feet. Flood stage there is 14 feet. No precipitation is in this week’s Washington forecast, listen to KCII for weather updates.
