The Keota Eagle boys and girls basketball teams fell on the road Tuesday to the Montezuma Braves in a pair of South Iowa Cedar League games.

The Keota boys were topped by the Braves 83-68. Montezuma had an 18-14 lead after one quarter and exploded for 32 points in the second to take a 50-33 lead into the half. Keota was unable to mount a charge against the Braves in the second half dropping the contest by the final 15 point margin. JD Stout led the Eagles with 26 points, Carson Sprouse added 17. With the loss the Eagles are now 5-5 on the year.

The Keota girls were upended by Montezuma 53-13. The Bravettes clamped down on the Eagles defensively, holding Keota scoreless in the second and fourth quarters, building a 28-7 lead at half. With the loss, the Eagles are 3-8 on the season.
