County-owned land will be terraced to help alleviate pooling water on the Kewash Trail. At a recent Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting Supervisor Stan Stoops explained the current situation, “This concern the new pavement, the new trail from Kirkwood down to the Kewash trail. And over the first hump from the north there’s a basin there, and there’s a riser to the east of the basin and the road is low enough that water and mud are going to pool on that portion of the road, of the paved trail there.” Stoops met with the Department of Natural Resources and the Washington County Conservation Department for options to fix the issue. The County could split the $7,890 cost with the tenants who farm the county-owned land adjacent to the trail. No action was taken and the item was tabled.
