The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team had their modest two game winning streak snapped right before Christmas break as they were downed by Northeast Goose Lake 64-50 last week.

Both teams were hot offensively in the first quarter with the Rebels holding a 21-16 lead after the first eight minutes. The second quarter belonged to Northeast as they went on a 15-6 run that spanned the entire frame to take a 36-22 lead into the half. Mid-Prairie was unable to make a run to get closer in the second half, dropping the contest by 14. With the loss, the Golden Hawks are now 5-4 on the year going into the holidays.
