The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team will take to the mat for the final time before Christmas break Thursday when they travel to Benton Community for a quadrangular meet.

The Golden Hawks are coming off of a 10th place finish of 13 teams at the North Linn Invitational Saturday. Isaac Boucher led Mid-Prairie with a runner-up finish at 220lbs. Mid-Prairie enters action with a 5-6 overall record.

Joining the Golden Hawks at Benton will be the Wilton Beavers. Wilton has a 3-7 overall record. On Tuesday the Beavers were swept by Lisbon and Mount Vernon in a triangular. The Beavers have two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Kael Brisker at No. 6 at 106lbs in class 1A and Cory Anderson eighth at 145lbs according to thepredicament.com. Wilton beat the Golden Hawks a year ago 59-12.

North Linn will also be there. The Lynx are 5-1 overall and currently ranked No. 10 in the state in class 1A. The Lynx have three ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Heath Moyer No. 6 at 126lbs, Brady Henderson No. 1 at 145lbs and Quinten Rechkemmer No. 9 at 195lbs.

Benton Community, the meet host, enters action with an overall mark of 2-5.

Action begins tonight at 5:30 at Benton High School.
