The Highland and Winfield-Mt. Union boys’ basketball teams squared off in Riverside in a KCII-area match-up Tuesday night, with the Huskies laying the smackdown on the Wolves 57-18.

It was all Highland from the start, with the Huskies getting out to a 12-2 lead to end the first quarter.  They’d pull away even more in the second to take a 17-point lead at halftime, and they would extend their lead throughout.  The Wolves did not break double-digits in any of the four quarters.

The game was was led by in scoring by Highland’s Mason McFarland with 18, followed by the Lasek boys, Trey and Zach, with 13 and 11, respectively.  Zack also hauled in 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.

The next action for both of these teams comes on Friday night.  Highland is at home Louisa-Muscatine, while WMU plays host to Iowa Mennonite.
