The Iowa Mennonite boys and girls basketball teams are on the floor Tuesday night when Wapello visits Hillcrest Union for a doubleheader.

The Iowa Mennonite girls come into the game with an overall record of 3-4. They are fresh off of a 54-48 win over English Valleys Saturday, in which Suzanna Yoder set a new single game scoring record with 40 points. For the season, Yoder leads IMS, the Superconference and class 1A at 27 points per game. She also has the team lead, conference lead and is third in the state with 30 assists. On the glass it’s Yani Gutierrez with 52 boards, leading IMS and fifth in  the Superconference.

Wapello comes into the game with an overall record of 3-2. Friday they were beaten 47-41 by Highland despite 15 points from Eryka Dickey. On the season Dickey leads the Arrows offense scoring 13 points per game, ninth best in the Superconference. Dickey leads the Arrows on the glass with 26 boards. Holly Massner has the team lead with 22 assists, fifth most in theSuperconference. These two teams met twice a season ago with Wapello sweeping IMS with a 60-20 win in Kalona and a 72-47 win in Wapello.

The Iowa Mennonite boys come into the game with an overall record of 2-2 on the year. Friday they fell at Pekin 56-46. Jeremy Niemeyer had a double double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. For the year the IMS offense is led by Eli Ours scoring 15 points per game, 10th best in the Superconference. Caleb Gingerich is best on the team and third in the Superconference with 21 assists. Niemeyer leads IMS on the boards with 38 rebounds on the year, fourth most in the Superconference.

Wapello is 3-1 this season after a big 58-46 win over Highland last time out. Keaton Mitchell went for 25 points and 13 boards in the win. For the year Mitchell leads the Indians, Superconference and all of class2A scoring 28 points per game. On the glass Mitchell has 52 rebounds, secondmost in the Superconference. Noah Holland leads the Indians with 13 assists.These two teams met twice a year ago with Wapello sweeping the series 63-52 inKalona and 63-42 in Wapello.
