The Kalona Public Library is putting on their 17th edition of the Adopt-A-Book program.

Patrons can come in and “adopt” a book for $7. The person who adopts the book will be given a one-of-a-kind ornament, and the book will be dedicated to a person of choice. The book will then be given to the library for everybody to enjoy. Youth Services Librarian Olivia Kahler says the event is a win-win, “The Adopt-A-Book program is a way for us to expand our library book collection and give somebody a unique gift opportunity.” The library has ordered 30 books this year. Kahler adds that books are going fast, but the library will order more books to ensure everybody has the chance to adopt a book.
