The Sigourney basketball teams welcomed Colfax-Mingo to town this past Thursday, with both Savage teams winning by a combined 55 points.

The girls were first, as the Savages coasted to a 64-29 victory.  It was actually a six-point game at halftime, with Sigourney up 26-20.  But the Savages held them to just nine points in the second half and cruised to victory.  Megan Stuhr led the way offensively with 18 points while also picking up seven boards.

The boys were next, winning their game 72-52.  It was a nine-point game at the half and a 10-point game after three, but a 22-12 outscoring of the Tigerhawks led the Savages to a comfortable victory.  Dustin Haines had a huge night, putting up a career-high 30 points.

The wins move the girls to 6-2 and the boys to 5-3 on the season.  The girls will be back on January 3 for a home game against Twin Cedars, and the boys will join them on the road the next night for a doubleheader at BGM.
