A trailhead for the Kewash Nature Trail will be installed at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. The Washington City Council approved a resolution for a joint agreement 28E for a recreational trailhead project with Kirkwood and the Washington County Conservation Board. Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson said it will be a nice addition, “I’m really looking forward to this. It’s something we’ve been working on for awhile. And I think it will be a wonderful compliment to the improvements that were made this last fall.” The trailhead will be on Kirkwood property for the spur of the Kewash Trail that was recently installed that goes north from the original trail, past willow pond, and up to the community college center. The agreement has already been approved by Kirkwood and will now go to the Conservation Board for consideration. The project will soon be ready to seek bids for the work.
