Just over three dozen Farm Service Agency offices in Iowa will reopen temporarily to assist farmers and ranchers during the government shutdown. Area offices that will be reopened are those in Henry County, Iowa County, and Keokuk County. United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced Wednesday that the offices will be open on January 18th and 22nd during normal business hours.

Not all services will be available during this open window, but assistance with processing payments made on or before December 31st, continuing expiring financing statements, and opening mail to identify priority items will be offered. Washington’s FSA office will remain closed.
