The Highland basketball teams played a tough doubleheader at home Friday night, each losing to Mediapolis.

The girls’ game was first, with Huskies taking a five-point loss, 64-59.  Three different players had double-digit scoring outputs, including a double-double from Abbie Miller, but it wasn’t enough to vault them over the Bulldogs.  Aly Stokes led with 19, Sarah Schneider dropped 15 and Miller put up 11 and 13 rebounds.  They drop to 12-3 with the loss.

The boys were next, with the Bulldogs taking revenge after losing to Highland in double overtime at home earlier this season.  The Huskies did not outscore the Bulldogs in any of the first three quarters, taking a 15-point deficit into the fourth.  They would put up 21 points in the final period, but it wasn’t enough, as the Huskies took a 61-52 loss.

The next action for the Highland teams comes on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on Pekin.  The opening tip for the girls game is set for 6:00 and the boys will follow.
