Iowa State Economist Dr. Chad Hart will be speaking in Washington about the crop production market.

On Monday, Hart will be sharing his expertise on commodity market direction, crop insurance, and the new farm bill. Hart says he is looking forward to being back in Washington, “I really enjoy meeting with and talking to producers, especially in Washington. It can turn into more of a one-on-one discussion with folks just because we have a fair amount of time down there to discuss some issues. I enjoy getting questions from the crowd and being able to address them directly. So it’s that one-on-one interaction that most interests me.”

Hart adds that this is a great opportunity for producers to get a better idea of how supply and demand works so they can better prepare for 2019. The meeting will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the presentation starting at 6 p.m.
