A prom in Washington will be one of 700 held around the world in February for adults with special needs. The Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine event is returning to Washington February 8th. Registration is open at this time for those over the age of 14. Last year about 90 people attended and organizer Ann Williams is hoping to see even more guests than last year, “I would hope that it will grow because of the success of the event we had last year. The comments were just overwhelming, and everyone had a wonderful time. We were also very fortunate here in Iowa that we had good weather. It was cool that night, but we always pray that we don’t have snow because this event is held one night all around the world. And of course, in other parts of the world they don’t have to worry about the cold weather or the snow. So we always put a prayer in asking that we have great weather for that night.”

Washington United Methodist Church is the official host church with area support. Every attendee is crowned a king or queen as they walk on the red carpet to dinner, karaoke, and dancing.
