The Sigourney girls’ basketball team played two games, one on Thursday and one on Friday, to open up the second half of their schedule.  The Savages won both games by a combined 44 points.

They started off at home on Thursday against Twin Cedars, who they manhandled 48-15.  The score was 29-1 after one quarter of play, and the rest, as they say, is history.  An impressive performance from Megan Stuhr led the way for the Savages in that one, dropping 23 and stealing it away seven times.

The road was calling on Friday night, with the Savages traveling to take on BGM in a doubleheader.  They opened things up in Brooklyn by downing the Bears 52-39.  BGM put up a bit more of a fight than they saw the night before, as the Savages led by just two points at the half, but they held on to take an 11-point victory.  Three Savages hit double-figures in that one, with Kaylee Weber  scoring 18, Megan Stuhr dropping 14, and Summer Barthelman tacking on 10.

The next action for the Sigourney girls will be tonight when they head to Wayland for a KCII-area doubleheader against WACO.  Tip-off for their game is set for 6:00 and the boys will follow.
