In Washington, 2019 has had a warm start to the year. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature has been 45 degrees, nearly 25 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature has been observed at 56 degrees and the normal is 30 degrees. For minimum temperatures, the normal is 11 degrees and in the first third of January it has been 34 degrees. Strong winds swept across the KCII-listening area Tuesday and a wind advisory was issued from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wind gusts in Washington were recorded at 27 miles per hour at 6:35 a.m., and at 31 miles per hour at 2 p.m. The strongest wind gust came at 9:35 p.m. and was 36 miles per hour.
