The WACO basketball teams returned to action at home last night, each picking up the win against Cardinal.

The Warrior girls won a tight one, just outlasting the Comets by a 46-43 score.  Clara Schmitz put up 17 points to lead all scorers, seven of which came from the free throw line.  Nadiya Brown was another double-digit scorer for the Warriors, dropping 12.  They improve to 5-11 with the win.

The boys’ game was a different story, with the Warriors routing the Comets 82-60.  Nik Coble continued to put up big numbers; in fact, last night saw his biggest ever in terms of scoring, putting up a career-high 33 points.  Drew Kissell and Colton Horak also had solid scoring outputs, with Kissell dropping 15 and Horak tacking on 10.  The victory improves them to 11-3 on the year.

The next action of the year comes on the road Friday night when the Warriors travel to Donnellson to take on Central Lee.  That doubleheader will start with the girls’ game at 6:00 and the boys will follow.
