In a special session meeting of the Washington School Board a resignation of a teacher was accepted Monday morning. With four board members present, superintendent Willie Stone read the resignation letter from Angela Kempf to take early retirement for the end of the current school year. Kempf is a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School.

The District is offering an early retirement package to all staff. To qualify, a person must have worked for the district for 20 consecutive years and be at least 55 years old. Employees who wish to seek early retirement must submit a resignation before February 28th. The early retirement benefits include individual paid health insurance until 65 years of age.
