The Wellman-Scofield Public Library is incentivizing kids of all ages to keep up reading throughout the winter.

The library is holding a winter reading program, offering prizes to young who read books. To participate there is a tic-tac-toe board available at the library. Once that’s complete, you can return it for a secret prize. Library Director Carol Wilkins says the program is set to make reading fun for kids, “We want to make it so [children] make their choices, and they read what’s fun for them, because reading should be fun. It will help encourage them to read more, and read more on their own.”

Students are also invited on January 11th for their Snowed In event. Mid-Prairie does not have school on this day. Wilkins says this provides a fun place to spend the day off from school. This event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and attendees will be served lunch.
