Southeast Iowa will wake up this morning with a blanket of snow on the ground.

According to the National Weather Service most of the snow accumulation is behind us. There may be another inch or two throughout the day. A winter storm warning will stay in effect for Washington County until 9 a.m.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible, according to the NWS. The City of Wellman has issued a snow emergency that began at noon Friday and will be in effect until 6 p.m. Washington received 3.25 inches of snow as of 5:15 a.m.
