A winter weather advisory is in effect for the KCII-listening area as a blanket of snow has fallen. The National Weather Service has issued the advisory from 12 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Saturday. According to the NWS, total snow accumulations of three to six inches are expected, with the higher amounts south of Interstate 80. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

The City of Wellman has issued a snow emergency until 10 p.m. Saturday. As of 8:10 a.m., Washington had 5.1 inches of snow. Ainsworth had 3.5 inches of snow at 7:50 a.m. Ottumwa and Burlington each had four inches of snow as of 7 a.m.
