National 4-H Week comes to a close and Washington County 4-H members, leaders, and alumni have been busy celebrating. Washington County is home to one of the top 10 largest 4-H programs in the state with 566 youth involved from Clover Kids in kindergarten up to 4-H members as seniors in high school. This week they celebrated with social media contests, locker signs in their schools, chalk art, wearing green 4-H gear on Wednesday, random acts of kindness, and flashbacks of sharing memories of times in 4-H.

According to research from Tufts University, young people in 4-H are three times more likely to contribute to their communities than youth not in the program. This month Washington County 4-H is starting their new year of programs and enrollment is open. To enroll your child or to get more information contact the Washington County Extension Office at 653-4811. Visit KCIIRadio.com and listen to Washington Pages this week with local 4-H alums.
