With a grant for $2,500 the Ainsworth Fire Department added a new cutter to their toolbox. The grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation covered the cost of the cutters and hose. At their recent volunteer fire department meeting, Fire Chief Waylon Schutlz explains the new tool will provide more force and help them at car accident scenes. Schultz added it is the exact same tool Riverside Fire Department has and the crew in Ainsworth is familiar with it, as they’ve had a chance to train with it. They do that training generally in the fall because there are so many accidents on icy, snow covered roads in the winter including Highway 218 and Highway 92.
