An educational program about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is being held next week.  Brittney Robinson, Community Outreach Specialist with the Alzheimer’s Association East Central Iowa Chapter says the class is designed to talk about different types of dementia and how if effects the brain, risk factors, the benefits of early detection and how to diagnose the early warning signs.

Robinson adds that Alzheimer’s disease is not heredity and keeping a healthy lifestyle will decrease the chances of developing dementia.  The public is invited to attend this free program.

It’s being held Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 in the Robert Nicola Conference Room at Washington County Hospital and Clinics.
