Ambulance services in Washington County will be discussed and considered at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. In May, a one-year extension was approved with Washington County Ambulance to continue to provide services in the county at $20,000 per month. At that time, Jamie Brame with the ambulance service said moving to the Managed Care Organizations in the State of Iowa has caused less payment to those providing health care services. The change results in the ambulance service not being able to collect payment that they used to be able to receive. In Iowa, ambulance services are not considered an essential service and counties are not required to have them. It also means that the state does not help fund these services.

Also on the agenda are quarterly reports from the recorder and auditor, and a personnel change request for county outreach. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
