The cool and wet weather we have been experiencing is normal for this time of year.  WeatherEye Meterologist Mandy Thalhuber says it has been more than two degrees cooler than normal and four-tenths drier than normal.  She says the major cause for this change is the jet stream.

The jet stream is driving winds or what drives the weather.  Thaluber says when the jet stream moves north into Canada, we will experience warmer weather.

She adds the jet stream is currently pulling in weather from the north and west.  Thaluber says the fields are still wet from the above normal snowfall and wet spring.

She says if the weather is dry the next couple of weeks, farmers should be able to start their planting.
