Half of IMS’s four losses came at the hands of conference rival Lone Tree this season, but IMS outscored the Lions 20-4 in the second quarter to take a 21-point halftime lead and cruised in the second half to a 59-35 win.

Thursday night Danville showed southeast Iowa why they are in fact ranked #1 in class 1A. In a match up of unbeatens, Danville ended Keota’s season in Burlington 55-25.

For the third time this season, Sigourney and Keota squared off, this time for a chance to head to the district championship, and for the third time Keota came away with the win, improving to 23-0 with a 48-40 win.
The Savages (14-9) led 25-21 at the half, but Keota (23-0) started the third quarter on an 8-1 run to take the lead 29-26. Sigourney trailed by three mid-way through the fourth, but Luke Lyle hit two free throws with 31 second left to seal the win for the Eagles. Lyle would finish with nine points. Casey Sieren led Keota with 16 points, 13 in the first half but Trevor Draisey picked up the scoring, scoring 11 of his 12 points after the break. Sigourney was led in scoring by Andrew Fritz with 12; Brandon Stuhr had 11.
Keota will face top-ranked Danville, 65-47 winners over Holy Trinity, in the district championsihp Thursday in Burlington. The Bears ended Keota’s state hopes last year in the sub-state round.

Lone Tree jumped out to a 29-15 halftime lead and staved off a furious second half comeback attempt from the Huskies en-route to a trip to the district championship game with a 76-63 win over Cedar Valley Christian.

It’s always said that beating the same team three times in a single season is a tough feat, and Mid-Prairie found that out Saturday night in Wellman. After trailing for most of the game, the Golden Hawks took the lead for good with 1:12 left and hung on for a 33-31 win to advance to the regional quarter-finals Tuesday.
