A couple of new products will be for sale at the Washington Farmer’s Market this season. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt asked the council for approval, “One of the types of products that is allowed with the governor’s farmers’ market regulations is allowing Iowa wineries and breweries who are producers to sell full bottle, full growlers that are sealed for consumption at home, not at the market. And we would like to invite Wooden Wheel and Kalona Brewing Company to come and sell their products at the market as a vendor, not for consumption at the market.” The city council unanimously approved the sale of wine and beer.

The Farmers’ Market is set to open June 4th and will include added safety measures this year including social distancing and walking in one direction. People will also have the option to order their products online ahead of time and pick them up curbside.
