While most playoff matchups in Southeast Iowa were postponed over the weekend, a few area baseball teams were able to compete in Lisbon on Saturday including one that ended in a walk-off blast.

Lone Tree and Wapello were tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh when Tyler Bell blasted a two-run shot that propelled the Lions to a 5-3 victory in a class 1A district 6 quarterfinal. The junior was mauled by his teammates at home plate and it capped off a four RBI night for the first baseman. The offense had seven hits with Adam Knock going 2-for-4 and Gavin Pourroy recorded one RBI. Knock tossed four innings without giving up a run and Cade Shield was credited with the win recording the final nine outs while surrendering two earned tallies and five knocks.

Columbus Community played in the nightcap in Lisbon (22-13) against the hosts and fell 16-0. The Wildcats end the season 0-20 and bid farewell to four seniors in Garrett Palmer, Will Schwab, Joey Zaehringer, and Mason Hodges. Lone Tree improves to 10-15 and it will be a battle of the Lions when they travel back to Lisbon tomorrow for the semifinal.
