The Demons girls were hosting 4A Ottumwa last night, and despite being down most of the night nearly came back. Ottumwa won 60-53. Demon Head Coach Phil Long says their first outing out of the holiday break wasn’t terrible they had some lulls on defense though, where they didn’t identify the right girl and gave up some easy buckets. He says Ottuma had a seven point lead down the stretch and the Demons were forced to start fouling. Long says they fouled the right girls, but they weren’t able to get rebounds off of missed free throws and that hurt. Jenna Krebs had a big night for the Demons with 17 points and 9 rebounds, Sydney Greiner 10, Lauren Vittetoe 8 points, Lauren Kimball had 7 off the bench. The Demons are now 6-3 on the season and will travel to face Mount Pleasant on Friday. Ottumwa improves to 6-4.
