Every so often you get those players that feel like they have been around for years. The players that opposing coaches can’t wait to see graduate because of how dominant they have been for such a long time. Sigourney’s Leah Carter fits that mold as she capped off her illustrious volleyball career last week for the Sigourney Savages.

The four-year starter not only developed into one of the best setters in the South Iowa Cedar League, she started out as one. As a freshman Carter led the SICL in assists with 510 and her career took off from there. Every year since Carter has been in the top five for assists in the conference including third this year with 490. The senior has amassed an astounding 1,876 assists in her career.

Carter helped the team to a 11-17 record and plans to continue playing volleyball in college.
