A Kalona company that supplies medical equipment to facilities around the U.S. is celebrating 30 years of having its headquarters in the town.  CIVCO develops innovative technology for hospitals and cancer centers.  A Florida cancer center they have helped over 100 patients so far this year with the Protura system, a CIVCO creation that allows doctors to pinpoint cancer’s effects on patients.

The company held an open house Friday, giving residents the opportunity to tour CIVCO’s Kalona facility and see displays by each department about the work they do.

CIVCO started in a small storefront in Kalona before moving to its current location in 1992.  In that time, the company grew from 30 to over 180 employees.

CIVCO’s medical imaging and radiation oncology technology is sold in more than 80 countries.
