An Iowa-based clothing company is selling T-shirts to raise funds to help area schools and communities during school and business closures. To help stop the spread of COVID-19, the governor mandated that school districts close their campuses and businesses were forced to close their doors until April 30th. Team Elite Sports, based out of Williamsburg, have set up fundraising campaigns to help school districts with COVID-19-related costs and raise funds for local charities and mission groups. Funds raised from the campaigns will go directly to local school districts and charities. Fifty percent of the cost of each shirt will be donated from each campaign. The company has already raised over $2,000 for the Mid-Prairie school district, and over $300 each for the Highland and Keota School districts. Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider says the money raised from the Mid-Prairie campaign will go toward offsetting costs of the 40 internet hotspots they purchased for families with internet issues at home. Shirts cost $10 or $15, depending on the material of the shirt. Local pick up or home delivery options are available, but are subject to change. Shirts can be purchased from the Team Elite Sports website.
