The Columbus Community School Board accepted a slightly higher bid for their ceiling repairs in order to have the work done before school begins. During a special meeting, the school board accepted a bid from Myers Construction for a total of $37,626 in order to repair the ceilings in two rooms and a hallway on the third floor of the secondary building. This bid was the higher of two bids, the other coming from B&B Construction based out of Morning Sun, for a total of $36,483. The school board accepted the slightly higher bid due to Myers Construction being able to begin work immediately and finish by August 1; compared to B&B Construction not being able to start work until August 10. Work on this project began in early July and will be completed on time.
