With asphalt projects starting on Monday, Kalona is also getting close to starting concrete work. At this weeks City Council meeting the bid from All American Concrete was chosen for the concrete project on A Avenue.

City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says that their bid was more than $3,000 less than the next lowest bid at around $137,000.

He shares they chose concrete for the stretch of road next to the Sales Barn because of its durability and due to the amount of traffic the road sees. There is no set start date for the project.
