Four cases of counterfeit 20 dollar bills and 1 hundred dollar bills have been reported in Fairfield since December 21st. The bills were found at two local banks. The counterfeit bills didn’t have the security features including proper watermarks and a security strip. The color was slightly different and the texture of the bill was not consistent with real bills. The edges reportedly had been cut by scissors. Citizens are urged to check their bills, and report any counterfeit money to local police.
