A 5k to raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis research is being held tomorrow in downtown Washington. Marcy Stout, who is helping organize the event, explains that she got involved after witnessing her husband’s experiences with the disease. Brianne Banger is helping to organize the event. Banger’s three-month old son, Gunner, also has cystic fibrosis, which is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.
All funds from the event will go to Great Strides, the national cystic fibrosis foundation. Registration is available tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. with the event beginning at 9 a.m. at the Washington square, there will also be raffles.
