David C. Green, age 54, of Broomfield, Colorado formerly of Washington died Saturday November 28, 2009 at his residence of a sudden and unexpected illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 am Friday December 4, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm Thursday at the Jones – Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening. David was born on September 4, 1955 in Keota, Iowa the son of Chester Ogden and Harriet (Schantz) Green. He attended school in Washington where he graduated from high school in 1973. He was active in sports throughout high school and college. He won the Drake Relays in 1973 with the discus. He attended Iowa Falls (Ellsworth) Community College, where he was 1st Team NJCAA. Later he went to the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1977. On October 23, 1993 David was united in marriage to Anita Hartsoch. He was previously married to Carrie Reschly. David was a pilot with Mesa Airlines for 23 years. He lived in Colorado for the past 24 years. He enjoyed camping with his family, his daughters and sons many cheerleading and sports, and working on and building computers.

David is survived by his wife Anita Green of Broomfield, Colorado; daughter, Codee Green of Broomfield, Colorado; son, Travis Green of Broomfield, Colorado; step daughter, Stacey Sluman of Broomfield, Colorado; mother, Harriet Nall and husband Arlin of Washington, Iowa; sister, Lora Daniel of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister, Loretta Roller and husband Carl of Gallatin, Tennessee; and one brother, Larry Green and wife Janelle of Louisburg, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Green; and one sister, Diana Green.
