The disc golf course in Washington will soon be doubling in size.

The current nine-hole course will expand to become a full 18-hole course this fall as the Washington City Council unanimously approved the measure at their meeting Tuesday. After tabling action on the expansion at their previous meeting due to resident’s safety and privacy concerns, council members met with disc golf enthusiasts Monday and walked the proposed addition. The baskets will be placed for 45 days and then the council will review if there have been any issues, at that time volunteer labor will be used to pour concrete for permanent placement of each hole. Mayor Jaron Rosien said that the expansion will be available to hold tournaments and will likely draw more people to visit Washington.
