A pair of Henry County residents each received a domestic assault charge in an incident that occurred last month.

At approximately 11:14 p.m. on February 21, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance on Green Valley Drive in Mt. Pleasant. Following an investigation, it was determined that 19-year-old Emanuel Nunez-Villarreal and 18-year-old Tessany Jackson got into a physical altercation causing personal injury to one another. The investigation also determined that Jackson was eight weeks pregnant at the time of the incident. Nunez-Villareal, who admitted to knowing about the pregnancy, was identified in a criminal complaint as the “primary physical aggressor.”

Nunez-Villarreal was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault of a pregnant person with intent to inflict serious injury, a class D felony. Jackson was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor. A preliminary hearing for Nunez-Villarreal is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13.
