The Keota Eagle and Sigourney Savage boys golf teams teed up Friday at the class 1A sectional meet at Iowa Valley.

The Eagles had the top area finish, taking second place with a 333 team score, Iowa Valley won the meet with a 311. The Eagles were led by Riley Conrad and his round of 79. Other scores for Keota included Jack Eakins 80, Luke Hammen 86, Branden Hyman 88, Chase Kindred 98 and Max Johnson 101.

The Sigourney Savages were fourth with a team score of 354. While they won’t be moving on as a team, they will see SICL individual champion Dustin Haines make his way to districts next week after his team best round of 78 placed him third in the field. Other scores for the Savages included Nick Goad 85, Cole Weber 93, Josh Mohr 98, and Ian Terfan and Brock Halleran with 105s.

Keota and Dustin Haines advance to Thursday’s class 1A district meet at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
