After a valiant effort the Sigourney-Keota football team fell short Friday night falling to Eddyville-Blakesburg 35-26.

The Cobras looked like a team trying to make a statement early by busting out for three first quarter scores to take a 20-7 lead into the second period. The teams traded blows for the next two quarters and in the fourth quarter the Rockets dashed the Cobra hopes by scoring 15 unanswered points to escape with the 35-26 victory. The Rockets’ late game success was in part by Trey Moore who recorded two rushing touchdowns on 13 carries for 126 yards. The junior also threw for one more on 12 of 25 passing for 234 yards. The young Cobras gave up 376 yards of total offense.

With the win the Rockets improve to 1-2 as the Cobras drop to 0-2. The Cobras will search for their first win Friday hosting Highland (1-1).
