The County Fair Association met Wednesday night, and at their meeting they heard a proposal from the Fire Department regarding the Demolition Derby. With low turnouts for the truck class in previous years, the proposal would eliminate the trucks and possibly replace it with an iron class, or “cheaters class”. This class would be made up of cars that didn’t fit the regulations for the other classes, or cars specifically designed to be difficult to destroy.

The Fair Association hopes this class will spark more interest in the derby, and bring more competitors into the area.The board also discussed potentially changing the award structure, giving heavier weight to the first place winners of each class.
